The Making of 'Springtime'

Being a big fan of paper and a big fan of fabric you can imagine the glee I experienced when I found out you could combine the two! The result is a textured, fibrous paper that is really strong and each piece has a different pattern on the surface. When I reached out to my friend and former teacher, Patty Simmons, to see if she had any quilt scraps she wanted to part with I had no idea the treasure trove of gorgeous fabrics she would bestow upon me. I wasn't sure what to work with first! As I sorted the pieces by color group I got the idea to make a process video of the lifecycle of the fabric and its journey to becoming paper.
